National Merit Online Entry Form

National Merit Scholarship Winners

Program Highlights
  • Children for whom you are the parent or legal guardian are eligible to participate.
  • High school juniors must take the PSAT-National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test; this is a standard test for college-bound students and information on test dates should be readily available from the school guidance office.
  • Deadline to enter is December 31 of the current year.
  • The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) will administer the scholarsip program and select the winners, based on the application, test results and other established criteria.
  • Winners will be notified in the spring of their senior year.
  • Your student does not have to  be a National Merit Scholarship Finalist or Semi-Finalist to be awarded a Scripps Howard Foundation Scholarship.
  • In keeping with NMSC rules, all scholarship payments to winners must be used for college undergraduate study at a regionally accredited college or university in the Uniterd States; standards of performance and other terms for accepting a scholarship and for receiving stipends will be specified for winners in the formal scholarship offer NMSC provides.

To apply, fill out an online entry form on the National Merit Scholarship Corporation's Web site. Entry forms are also available from your human resource representative. Note: When online entry form is completed, print a copy of the "Submission Confirmation" page (also instructed to do this in Step 5) for record of proof of entry. Each entrant will receive a unique Confirmation Code along with the date and time that the entry was received.
