Community Fund

Touching lives in the communities where the E.W. Scripps Company does business is at the heart of the Foundation’s Community Fund, established in 1998 through the generosity of Robert P. Scripps, grandson of the company’s founder, who wanted to “give back.” He continues to be the primary support for the fund. Local executives serve as the fund’s advisors and recommend the grants to be made in their communities. Grants are provided for education, social service, arts and culture, and health and human services – aimed at improving the quality of life in the communities we serve.

The Foundation does not accept grant proposals directly, but relies on the recommendation of the local Scripps executive to submit a proposal on behalf of the organization. Contact the Scripps executive in your community to discuss a proposal. Visit www.scripps.com for community-specific information.

For information about the program, contact Mike Philipps, president and CEO, Scripps Howard Foundation at 1-800-888-3000 ext. 3036 or mike.philipps@scripps.com.
